WHAT IS SEMAGLUTIDE?

Our treatment programs feature semaglutide of the highest quality, sourced only from pharmacies with the most strict quality control standards. Semaglutide is the same active ingredient as Ozempic® and Wegovy®.

Semaglutide belongs to a class of medications known as glucagon-like peptide-1 receptor agonists, or GLP-1 RAs. It mimics the GLP-1 hormone, released in the gut in response to eating.

One role of GLP-1 is to prompt the body to produce more insulin(Link is external) (Link opens in new window), which reduces blood sugar (glucose). For that reason, health care providers have used semaglutide for more than 15 years to treat Type 2 diabetes.

But GLP-1 in higher amounts also interacts with the parts of the brain that suppress your appetite and signal you to feel full. When used in conjunction with diet and exercise, it can cause significant weight loss — and a reduced risk of cancer, diabetes and heart disease — in people who are obese or overweight.

WHAT IS TIRZEPATIDE?

Tirzepatide is used for weight loss, to help lose weight and keep weight off. Tirzepatide works for weight loss by decreasing appetite and slowing the movement of food from the stomach into the small intestine, which may make you feel full more quickly and for a longer period of time.

Tirzepatide is a once-weekly injection FDA-approved for weight loss in adults with obesity or who are overweight and have weight-related medical problems. Tirzepatide helps you to lose weight and maintain weight loss and should be combined with diet and exercise.

Normally, when we eat, natural hormones called GIP and GLP-1 are released by the gut. These hormones increase insulin release, suppress appetite, slow gastric emptying, and increase the feeling of fullness. Tirzeptide works like our natural hormones GIP and GLP-1 by activating the GIP and GLP-1 receptors. Tirzepatide is a GIP and GLP-1 receptor agonist. Tirzepatide works (mechanism of action) by activating both GIP (glucose-dependent insulinotropic polypeptide) and GLP-1 (glucagon-like peptide-1) hormone receptors.
